AONL 2024 Inspiring and Facilitating Foundation Investments in Nursing

April 8, 24 (New Orleans, LA) - The American Organization of Nurse Leaders conference earlier this month proved to be a wonderful opportunity to connect with so many wonderful organizations that the Health Carousel Foundation supports.

AONL proved to be a great venue to catch up on the DAISY International Advocate program supported by grants from the Foundation. These funds are used to launch DAISY nurse recognition programs in countries without the funds to do so. Our time with DAISY was also spent discussing new ways to provide compassionate care training globally. Exciting stuff!

Foundation representatives were also grateful to be invited to and partake in the AONL President's Reception, where we met so many of the country's most impactful nursing leaders.

The week's highlight was meeting the two senior nursing leaders from Kenya that the Foundation supports to participate in the Coldiron Senior Nurse Executive Fellowship program at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing within Case Western Reserve University. Shown below with Health Carousel employees and Joyce Fitzpatrick, CWRU,  are Judith Awinja Aluora, PhD, MPH, BSN (third from the left), the appointed Head of Nursing and Midwifery Services, Ministry of Health, Kenya and Eunice Ndirangu-Mugo, PhD, MSN, BSN, (far right) is a Professor and the Dean of the Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery, East Africa. Eunice is also the Chairperson of the Nursing Council of Kenya. Together, Judith and Eunice will surely be a positive force for nursing in their home country and beyond. Their spirit and optimism are truly inspiring.

We're also thankful to have spent time with our colleagues at Chamberlain University, who are so supportive of Health Carousel Foundation initiatives and have a great vision of how to develop the next generation of nurse leaders.

The Foundation is looking forward to AONL next year in Boston!
